Give ideas room to climb.
Founded by longtime PBS KIDS development executive Natalie Engel, Trees in the Breeze helps writers, producers, and artists grow and deepen their ideas for meaningful children’s content.
Meet Natalie
Natalie is a writer, editor, Emmy Award-winning producer, and lifelong Muppets enthusiast.
Before founding Trees in the Breeze, Natalie spent 13 years at PBS KIDS — where she had the pleasure of making groundbreaking, gorgeous, funny, offbeat TV shows, shorts, and specials — as both a development and production executive.
Natalie started her career in publishing as an editorial assistant at HarperCollins Children’s Books, then built a (pen) name for herself as a freelance- and ghost-writer for books for young children. She has authored more than 70 titles, many under the name Lucy Rosen.
Growing up across continents, Natalie understood from a young age that the world is wide and weird. Books, television shows, and movies helped her process and escape events around her, and dream of what was yet to come (often while sitting in a tree). Her passion is working with creative people to help more kids do the same.
